On December 12th, the Church honors Mary as Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the Americas. On the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, we remember that Mary appeared before Saint Juan Diego, a poor Aztec Indian peasant, on a hill in Mexico in the year 1531. On this feast day, we can reflect on living our faith with the love, compassion, and respect that Mary demonstrated.
