On this feast of the Assumption we celebrate that Mary was taken body and soul to heaven at the end of her life. On August 15th honor Mary by engaging students in a discussion about the Joyful Mysteries.
The Joyful Mysteries come from the Gospel of Luke and focus on the announcement of Jesus' birth to Mary by the angel Gabriel (the Annunciation); the visit of Mary and Elizabeth (the Visitation); the birth of Jesus (the Nativity); the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple; and the finding of Jesus in the temple.
