Providing Activities for Students Who Finish Early

But even more importantly, when there are students who have been able to satisfactorily complete their classwork before other students are done, we want to be able to push them forward rather than just sit and wait while their classmate are completing the work that the early finishers have already completed.

Many textbooks are setup to do this--with well differentiated problems sets where students who solve basic problems can move on to more challenging problems. And that’s great when you textbook is set up for it. But even with the best of textbooks, so of our students are finishing early and need something to do. So what I am offering you today is some treasures from the Sadlier Math archives, early finisher worksheets and early finisher activities that you can download and use in your classroom today.

By using these worksheets and activities, students who finish early will:

• Continue to be engaged

• Access activities the stretch them to a higher level

• Be exposed to material outside of the regular curriculum
