I love the idea of combining writing with speaking as much as possible. Speaking what you have written is a great revision strategy. In addition, hearing the words allows the listener to pick out what sounds correct. My Get Shakin' with Adverbs grammar exercise is a fun revision activity that encourages students to match appropriate adverbs to sentence stems!
HOW IT WORKS
This simple revision strategy can be done individually, in pairs, or in groups!
Hand out a sentence stem sheet and a stack of cards to each person, pair, or group.
Students will match the correct word from the card stack to the sentence stem.
After each sentence is matched with an adverb or adjective, students will read the sentence. This can be done in groups or whole class.
Teachers will assess for the correct adverb.
