Teachers are not alone in the time of the CCSS!
The Common Core State Standards are a set of educational goals with a synergistic approach. Standards provide a common starting place for grade levels across the nation and are not meant to be the end; rather, the standards provide a beginning on which students can build their knowledge and demonstrate understanding.
Each week on the Core Grammar Blog I will be sharing grammar activities and writing exercises that align with the new standards. The following two grammar activities, one for grades 3-5 and one for grades 6-12, provide an example of what is to come in the CCSS section of my blog. In addition to the standard, a discussion about how to use the standard in the classroom will be provided, and printable common core resources.
